It's Remembrance Day. Lest we Forget. A minute of silence at 11 am of the 11th day of the 11th month for all those who fought for our country. Lest we forget.

Between the crosses, row on row,

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

We mark a 2 minute silence here in the UK we also had Rememberance day on Sunday where poppy wreaths are laid to all the fallen today is Armistice day so we do both

I posted In Flanders Fields on my blog, too! It gives me shivers when I read it. Yesterday, at our school Remembrance Day service, one of the guests performed a very dramatic reading of the poem. It never loses its impact or relevance.
